During the week of October 2 to 6, 2023, the Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP Common Module) took place, under the auspices of the European Defense College, with great success, at the premises of the Icaron School. and Security of the European Union (European Security and Defense College – ESDC), within the framework of Military Erasmus – EMILYO.
The purpose of the module was to acquire knowledge about the Common Security & Defense Policy (CSDP) operations of the European Union.
This activity also marked the beginning of the International Aviation Semester, which was opened by YFETHA Mr. Ioannis Kefalogiannis. Mr. YFETHA was welcomed to the Icaron School by the Principal GEA Vice Admiral (I) Themistoklis Bourolias, accompanied by the Commander of the School Vice Admiral (I) Konstantinos Karamesini.
Major Christoforos Christoforos attended the opening ceremony and gave a greeting as a representative of the European Defense and Security College and Administrator of the Military Erasmus Program.
Also present at the ceremony were the Director of the Belgian Royal Military Academy Vice-Admiral Yves Dupont, the Director of the Portuguese Air Academy Lieutenant General (I) Luis Manuel Nunes Serodio, as well as a delegation of two Officers of the Polish Air University.
The joint educational module was attended by Ikari, students of the Naval Cadet School, the Military Officer Corps School, the Nurse Officer School, the Coast Guard School, the Hellenic Police Officer School, students of the European Union Military Schools (Military Technical Academy of Romania, Italian Military Academy, Italian Aviation Academy, Portuguese Aviation Academy, Polish Air University and Belgian Royal Military Academy), as well as students of Greek universities (EKPA, University of the Aegean, University of Piraeus, University of Macedonia). The students of the Military Schools of the EU and Greece were hosted at the Ikaron School and followed an additional afternoon program of cultural visits.
The speakers of the training module came from the SI, the Ewelpidos Military School, the University of Piraeus, the Polish Military University of Technology and the European Peace Facility–EPF with experience and relevant academic background.
Upon completion of the training program, the Commander of the Ikaron School Vice-Captain (I) Konstantinos Karamesinis awarded relevant Diplomas to the participants.
