Britain’s military intelligence agency said on Monday that Russia used the notorious Wagner mercenary group to bolster front-line forces in the war in Ukraine.
According to the British, Wagner is lowering its recruitment standards and hiring convicts and previously blacklisted people. “This will have a very likely impact on the future operational efficiency of the group,” they note.
Russia reportedly used Wagner to bolster front-line forces and reduce manning shortages and casualties.
For the British it is almost certain that she played a central role in the recent battles, including the capture of Popashna and Lysisthansk, and this battle has caused her heavy casualties.
