UK-based survival technology solutions provider Survitec has acquired US-based Vinyl Technology, which specializes in custom-made plastic and industrial textile products for the military and other high-end markets.
According to a Survitec release on January 15, 2024, the acquisition will see the company increase its presence in the US and expand its capacity to produce pilot flight equipment (PFE). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition of Survitec positions the company to become the leading employer of the highly skilled sewing skills necessary for the production of Pilot Flight Equipment (PFE). Vinyl Technology manufactures a range of PFE equipment, including advanced Anti-G Suit technology for use in the rapid launch military sector.
Other systems produced from Vinyl technology include anti-G Suits, fuel bladders, cargo bags and CBRN suits.
Survitec is the exclusive supplier, designer, certifier and manufacturer of full PFE below the neck for Joint Strike Fighter Programwhich produces thousands of F-35 fighters for US and international customers.
The announcement comes after a slight pick-up in sentiment from the global aerospace, defense and security sector, which saw a 1% increase in company filing sentiment in Q4 2023 compared to the previous quarter, according to the analysis of GlobalData for over 148 aerospace, defense, and security company filings.
