An American diplomat revealed a Turkish plan to “land” on three uninhabited Greek islands-The US is blocking Abdülhamid Han

If Turkey attempts anything in the Aegean-Eastern Mediterranean, it will receive a barrage of sanctions from the EU-West

The great Turkish journalist, expert Gürbüz Evren, reveals that Ankara is already blocked in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean, since the EU and the US have decided for their own interests not to allow it to “spread” in this region.

The Turkish expert and journalist reports: “when I asked an Italian diplomat, an EU official about the exit of the 4th Turkish drilling rig and the union’s reactions, he told me that, “Turkey would not start a dialogue with low-profile diplomats on such an important issue .

But this time, no high-level European would move to Ankara during a Greek-Turkish crisis.

The meeting with the Turkish officials would only take place if they came to Brussels”.

Three major political groups in the European Parliament, the European Socialists, the European People’s Party and the Greens, have also braced themselves for reactions to a new Turkey-Greece crisis in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Under the leadership of a group, led by Greek MPs, with strong support from French and German MPs, 4 different proposals for possible sanctions against Turkey have been prepared.

Among them is a proposal for sanctions involving key figures in the Turkish government.

Let us remind you that the decisions of the European Parliament are advisory for the Commission and the Council of the European Union, and are not binding.

According to the claims of the representatives of these political groups, this time the recommendations of the European Parliament would be taken seriously and immediately implemented by Brussels.

Let us now turn to the position of the United States of America.

I can say that the other danger that awaits Turkey in a new crisis with Greece in the Eastern Mediterranean will be American warships.

The impression I got from my experienced foreign journalist friends in Washington is that Greek warships and aircraft would not be the only ones Turkey would face in a crisis.

US forces are also preparing to deal with Turkish warships and aircraft accompanying the Turkish drilling rig Abdülhamid Han.

The impression I got from my meeting with the senior diplomat of the United States Embassy in Athens was that American and Greek warships and fighter aircraft would be moving together.

According to the said American diplomat with a military background, who also served for a long time in Ankara, not only the US but also the armed forces of France and Germany will support the Greek army.

Moreover, this support will be given with a very decisive attitude. When I asked what this decisive stance was, I understood from the answer I received that it was a plan involving the patrolling of Greek, French, American, German warships jointly moving parallel to the Turkish coast, which would aim to upgrade the military threat level presence.

The course of this motley fleet has already been charted in a line starting from the island of Lemnos off the Dardanelles to the north, continuing through the islands of Lesvos and Chios, and would end at the islands of Symi and Rhodes in the south, at the bottom of Turkish shingles zone up to Kastellorizo.

Included in this plan is the idea of closing the international sea route between Symi and Rhodes for warships of the Turkish navy, if required (essentially entry into the Aegean).

According to the American diplomat, Athens strengthened its power against Turkey by unconditionally siding with the United States against Russia, while signing military agreements.

Greece also has the ability to prevent the sale of F-16 fighter jets by Turkey and take the lead in the arms race.

“Why patrol with your warships in the Aegean alongside the Turkish coast when the Turkish drilling rig is more likely to go to the maritime border area with Libya?” I asked the American ex-military diplomat.

The response I received confirmed the suggestion I mentioned in my column on July 7, 2022, and which I heard in a speech by European diplomats in a large hotel in Ankara.

The American diplomat of military origin told me: “We believe that in the event of a possible crisis with Greece, Turkey would land troops on 3 uninhabited islands in the Aegean, so that there would be an Imian scenario.

In this way, Turkey would attempt to occupy three uninhabited islands with the aim of recognizing the rest as Greek”.

We must prevent steps that will further aggravate the crisis in the region”, concluded the American diplomat.

Although this assessment was not an answer to my question, it was important as it allowed me to see the whole picture of the situation.

However, I couldn’t help but ask: “How did you come to the conclusion that Turkey has such a plan?”

It seems that the US, EU, Greece and the Greek Cypriot side made serious preparations this time to prevent Turkey from taking a share of the energy pie in the Eastern Mediterranean.

It is also understood that they intend to put Turkey, which is already struggling with a deepening economic crisis, into even worse situations.

In light of these developments, the new drilling rig Abdülhamid Han will either sail in areas that will not create problems under the low-profile policy for the Eastern Mediterranean implemented after the crisis in the summer of 2020, or move to the area of the “Blue Homeland” ».

All the foreign diplomats and journalists I spoke to about this told me that Turkey’s mediation between Russia and Ukraine, its role in the creation of the grain corridor, the issue of Sweden and Finland, its importance in preventing the influx of refugees in the European Union etc. will be evaluated in a possible drilling crisis in the Eastern Mediterranean”, he concludes.

According to the PENTAPOSTAGMA, this was reported many months ago and Pierre Bénizeau, an officer of the French army, who lived for seven years in Greece and three years in Turkey, where he served in the NATO ground command in Izmir, warns us of war scenarios rupture between Greece and Turkey in the Aegean on the occasion of a Turkish attack on a sparsely populated or uninhabited micro-island.

Finally, the game in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean is huge and now concerns the maritime area of the East Med pipeline, which is a matter of life and death for the EU and the West.
