A criminal group that trafficked cocaine and cannabis in the wider area of the center of Athens was dismantled – 3 arrests – more than 28 kg of cannabis were seized
The Piraeus Narcotics Prosecution Department of the Narcotics Prosecution Sub-Directorate dismantled a criminal group whose members were active in the supply and trafficking of quantities of cocaine and cannabis in the wider area of the center of Athens.
Arrested, yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, November 1, 2023, as part of the spontaneous procedure -3- members (29-year-old, 31-year-old and 26-year-old) -as the case may be- for setting up a criminal organization, violation of drug legislation as well as for violence against employees, while it is wanted one more member.
Their action was certified after investigating information regarding a criminal group active in the supply and trafficking of drugs in the wider area of the center of Athens, and the subsequent profiling, cross-referencing and verification of data.
In this context, the 31-year-old and the 26-year-old were found in a vehicle to possess, on behalf of the 29-year-old, a nylon package with raw cannabis, weighing five -5- kilograms and two -2- improvised nylon packages, containing cocaine, with a total weight of -0, 6-grams, with the purpose of selling them.
In a subsequent search of the 31-year-old’s home, -13- improvised nylon packages were additionally found and confiscated, containing -23- kilograms and -320- grams of raw cannabis and two -2- improvised nylon packages, with raw cannabis, with a total weight of -6 .4 grams, which they intended for immediate sale.
It is pointed out that the 26-year-old man, in his attempt to avoid control and arrest, pushed the police officers in order to escape, however he was immobilized and arrested.
Total found and seized:
raw hemp, weighing -28- kilograms and -326.4- grams,
cocaine weighing -0.6- grams,
car,
-5- precision electronic scales,
-4-mobile devices and
apartment building door keys.
Those arrested, with the case filed against them, were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office.
