On Friday, June 2, 2023, in the presence of the Chief of the General Air Staff, Lieutenant General (I) Themistocles Bourolias, the ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the 340 Squadron (340M), at the 115th Fighter Wing, at the Souda Air Base was held .
The program of the event included eulogy, invocation of fallen Airmen of the 340M, reading of the Squadron Daily Order by its Commander, Lt. Gen. (I) Iosif Daskalomarkakis, static display, formation flight of the Squadron’s aircraft, as well as a demonstration of the F-16 Individual Aircraft Demonstration Team “ZEUS”.
The ceremony was attended by the Chief of Tactical Aviation, Lieutenant General (I) George Fasoulas, delegations of the Armed Forces and Security Forces, acting Commanders of 340M, as well as active and retired personnel who have served in the Squadron.
